I Don't Do Minimum-Viable Service Facilitation!

Hello! My name is Ty Carey, and I want to serve you as your solo, independent, service facilitator. I am also a father and EOR of a son who uses the waiver program, so I know the system from all angles.

Virginia Waiver Family was created because families deserve more than paperwork processing. I believe service facilitation should mean facilitation. That means educating you. That means explaining the process instead of keeping it mysterious. That means helping you document your actual needs. That means requesting services based on those needs—not simply choosing the request that seems easiest to get approved.

And when something is denied, my involvement doesn't automatically end with the denial. I help you understand what happened, what options may be available, what documentation matters, and what your next steps are.

Knowledge Changes the Balance of Power

A family that doesn't understand the system has to depend entirely on the people who do. I don't think that's how consumer-directed services should work. So I'm going to teach you. I'll explain what I'm doing. I'll explain what you're responsible for. I'll explain what I'm responsible for. I'll help you understand your authorizations, documentation, timelines, responsibilities, and available options when something goes wrong.

And I want you to hold me accountable too. My goal isn't to make Virginia Waiver Family indispensable by keeping you dependent. My goal is to make you powerful by making you informed.

I Will Advocate for the Need

I cannot promise that every request will be approved. I can promise something more important:

I won't lower the stated need simply because a lower request might be easier. If the documentation supports a need, I believe that need deserves to be accurately presented through the appropriate process. Approval decisions belong to the entities responsible for making them. My responsibility is to help make sure your situation is accurately documented, you understand the process, and you know what options exist when you disagree with a decision.

Small by Design

I don't want the largest caseload in Virginia. I want a caseload I can actually serve. Virginia Waiver Family is being built around communication, education, documentation, follow-through, and personal attention. Growth will never be an excuse for forgetting why we're here.

You Should Know What I Know

That's the Virginia Waiver Family difference.

Know your services.
Know your responsibilities.
Know the process.
Know your options.
Know your rights.
Ask questions.
Demand answers.

Virginia Waiver Family: Don't just receive services. Understand them.

Let's connect today!
